		<description>

💈
The Agency promotes radical ecopolitical investigations that re-imagine lives interdependently, and aims to foster ways in which we can re-imagine such ecologies of lives otherwise. Through networks of care, solidarity and transcultural kinship the agency is always open to working with spatial practitioners and experiment with different methodologies.

The Agency of Spatial Affairs is a collaborative design platform led by Maria Venegas Raba interested in provoking encounters between non-professional spatial practitioners, architects, artists, designers, craftsmen and craftswomen, curators, writers, theoreticians, and thinkers.The public programme of the agency encompasses a wide breath of actions, tactics, and formats ranging from the design of durational installations, ephemeral spaces, to the production of participative workshops, exhibitions, DIY and experimental publications,&#38;nbsp; the activation of spaces through situated performances, and/or the engagement with a wide range of critical spatial practices.

The agency is interested in finding allies that share the ethos and curiosity to imagine radical pedagogies together, explore storytelling crafting tactics such as afrofuturism, site-specific performance, site-writing, etc., to engage with ecological issues, postcapitalist imaginaries, subaltern architectures, indigenous knowledges, decolonial and anticolonial theories, practice, and thought.

The agency envisions itself as a queer and intersectional learning community and publishing platform that, amongst others, works on the development of new curricula that articulates the politics of location with polyvocal storytelling practices of the built environment.in representation of the agency, MVR has worked as a casualised lecturer various UK and Colombian HEI (i.e. at the University of East London, University of Brighton, Universidad del Valle, University of Greenwich, and The Bartlett School of Architecture).&#38;nbsp;

	The agency is interested in performance as a tool, a method and instrument of research to enquire how the bodies we inhabit co-produce spaces and spaces in-between. Trough processes where overlapping, juxtaposition, negotiation, organization, distancing, navigation, affection, interdependence, co-habitation become evident the agency has explored &#38;nbsp;the spaces in-between bodies&#38;nbsp;and ways throughout which we can leave traces and notations of those processes. Unruly bodies,&#38;nbsp; bodies as archives (Singh, 2018), the body as a process, an always-changing entity; the voice as a record; a conversation as a historical document; polyphonic writings; coreographies; are some of the situated ways where drawing spatially, collectivelly, and together have been explored as possible spatial affairs since 2018.
The agency has designed and co-produced a number of performances/workshops to explore these questions collaborating with choreographers, students, dancers, passers-by, non-human entities, pidgeons, rubbish, women, non-binary folk, migrants, neurodiverse folk, and a constellation of bodies through situated iterations in the public space.

Bien pueda siga y cuéntenos. La Concordia en sus palabras.
	Fanzine publicationThis project revisits a listed modernist maket located in the margins of the historical centre in Bogota, Colombia: La Concordia. It discusses with local stakeholders what is heritage in the light of the recent ‘regeneration’ work that has been done in the market. The product is a fanzine series where the oral histories of local members of the community are published.&#38;nbsp;It was led by architectural researcher&#38;nbsp; Maria Catalina Venegas Raba (London) and architectural historian Angélica Manosalva (Colombia) with colllaboration of Santiago Pinzon and Diana Torres, two ethnographers working in Bogota. Graphic design by Juliana Bejarano. Workshop facillitation by artist Tatiana Saavedra. Photography by Veronica Gutierrez.
 This project was funded by British Council Micro Awards and IDARTES.

	Public engagement iterations

Collaborating with different migrant-led groups based in London has been one of the ways in which the agency has explored what a practice of ‘writing’ in space, of space, and through space
can entail when collaborating with diaspora groups, grass-root campaigns, and/or in multicultural, multilingual and activist frameworks.For more info, to collaborate on a public collective ritual, or to trigger a spatial affair in the form of a performance, get in touch on the contact section

	During 2020 MVR collaborated with Dr Jos Boys and Barbican curator Jon Astbury&#38;nbsp; as the research assistant for the How We Live Now: Reimagining Spaces with Matrix Feminist Design Co-operative, and as the person responsible for the oral histories retrieved for the Matrix Open - Feminist Architectural Archive

The collection of interviews conducted with people that were architectural workers of Matrix Feminist Cooperative between 1982 and 1994 are now part of the online Matrix Open Feminist Architecture Archive. These oral histories were also exhibited at the Barbican ‘How we live now’ installation between April 2021 and February 2022.
